CHURCH
FURNITURE AROUND PETERBOROUGH
Jim Deboo had a long association with the Church in Peterborough and
so it might be expected that some of the expertise in the Apprentice School would
have been channelled into the creating of objects to be of use in the church.
- Baker Perkins Apprentice School building.
- St
Jude’s
Church in Netherton is surmounted by this stainless steel cross, made
in 1984.
- Also in St Jude’s
Church is a pair of candle holders known as “Votive Stands”. One
of these has a slot to collect money for candles.
- A
Paschal candle stand in St Jude’s Church is mainly used at Easter,
but can hold large candles for other occasions.
- Paston Church Flag
Stand. A brass plate states that this was made in October 1972 by Baker
Perkins’ Plate
Shop apprentices and was presented by Paston Group Scout Council.
- Candleholder
at All Saints’ Church.
