HISTORY OF PETERSEN OVEN COMPANY, USA

The Petersen Oven Company had been manufacturing unit ovens successfully for nearly three-quarters of a century. In about 1955, they decided to launch out into the design and manufacture of complete automatic bakery plant, but soon found themselves confronted with unforeseen and formidable problems. The competitive situation in the USA was extremely severe and by 1958, the company was in financial difficulties and approached Baker Perkins, with the result that a merger was arranged. All the designs, key personnel and manufacturing were moved into Baker Perkins’ factory at Saginaw, Michigan.
